Welcome to EDUCATION NATION where we will share a specific meal prep / clean eating related topic with you each day!

Today is all about “how you MAY feel this week!  During our 30 day challenges, our week 1 meal plan is VERY strict!  It’s an intentional sugar detox and divas usually lose quite a few pounds and inches during the very 1st week.

The plan you have been provided for this week is NOT a DETOX but it is a LOW SUGAR plan.  If you are used to having sugary coffee, cokes (or other soda), breads, simple carbs like (white rice, bread, pasta) you MAY still experience some of the symptoms our 30 day divas experience

Take a gander below; in today’s EDUCATION NATION, we have summed up both the POSITIVE & NEGATIVE Side Effects of a SUGAR DETOX!

POSITIVE SUGAR DETOX EFFECTS:

It is common to experience different symptoms
Our body is cleaning itself from the inside out.

  2. Clearer skin
  3. Less craving for sugar
  4. Consistent energy
  5. More regular bowel movements
  6. Elevated mood
  7. Lower cholesterol
  8. Better sleep

NEGATIVE SUGAR DETOX EFFECTS:

Some people experience no negative symptoms.
(these symptoms will pass after just a few days IF you experience them at all)

  1. Headaches (from withdrawals!! Your body is craving that Coke, Coffee or sugar!)
  2. Emotionally sensitive
  3. Low energy
  4. Diarrhea
  5. Irritability
  6. Sporadic sleep

During our 30 day challenges we offer new, tasty, low sugar, low carb meal plans EVERY week!  Week 1 of our 30 day challenge is always a SUGAR DETOX, where we have seen divas lose as much as 14 pounds in the first 7 days!  The plan provided here is not a SUGAR DETOX meal plan, but it is a low sugar / low carb plan.

My very first challenge I experienced headaches. But as you said…when I stayed the course it all subsided. And when I have a dose of too much sugar off the plan, I can feel the effects. That is why I try my best to stay the course! Thanks for the tips.

I was definitely irritable during the first week of the Sugar Detox Challenge and the cravings were insane, but I managed to pull through and lose a few pounds. I’ve learned how to make adjustments to my diet so that it’s not as sugar-dependent as it was in the past. #FFFitmas

  • Mira S. says:

I experienced a headache as well as irritability, I’m not a soda drinker but I do have a cup of coffee every morning. So I thought the detox wouldn’t be that hard to complete, boy was I wrong. The cravings were no joke, however, I’ve learned to make better choices and be more conscious of the sugar content.

  • Beverly C says:

I know that sugar cravings is real and just like anyother addiction, it slowly sneaks up on you and before you know it you are in a vicious cycle. My previous experiences have mainly been headaches and until I started reading this today, didn’t associate my recent headaches to my decrease in the amount of sugar. For awhile I was on a serious binge and could stop myself! My office mate keeps her candy dish filled with all sorts of goodies which didn’t help. BUT I’m gonna to look at that candy and say NO NOT TODAY!

  • Tamara T says:

A new healthy me is certainly a great reason to detox. I’m not just detoxing sugar, but all the ills that plaque me. #FFITMASS

  • Tira McDonald says:

My father has been on an anti-sugar campaign for a while. He’s seen several news segments on the adverse effects sugar has on our bodies. He has been after me for the longest to cut down or elimate sugar from my diet.

Reading this has affirmed what my father has been telling me as well as confirms I’m doing the right thing by taking part in this challenge.

  • Beverly says:

the last time I did a detox I thought I was going to DIE!!!! regrettably I have fallen off the wagon!!! ( MY mind is telling me noooo…but my taste buds…my taste buds are telling me YESSSSSS… lol) I will be doing another detox because I know once I kick the sugar addiction, losing weight will be much easier!!!

  • Delores says:

I haven’t had any type of sugar withdrawals since I done the sugar detox in the October challenge , I did partake in sweet potato pie at Thanksgiving. Before the sugar detox I’ve learned to reach for something on the healthier side when I have a sweet craving ie apple, or banana. Since I’ve joined this group and started participating in the challenges I wouldn’t have gain all these NSV
