Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Cocktails for Divas

By January 31, 2018September 12th, 2023Breakfast, Recipes

A few years ago I decided to start drinking Apple Cider Vinegar or (ACV) every morning.   You you are unsure about the benefit of ACV, or why one would want to drink it…. Check out this list of benefits from Reader’s Digest which includes (speeding your metabolism, preventing leg cramps, losing weight, lower cholesterol, and many others (CLICK HERE) to check it out.

HOW TO DRINK IT:
Some divas drink ACV directly without diluting (be careful with that), while others add lemon, and others just add water.  I’m a fan of this recipe, as it is a spicy wake-me-up that includes other benefits like metabolism increases from the ACV and the Cayenne and  let us not forget the Leveling of Sugar levels from the Cinnamon.  (CLICK HERE) to check out my ACV Pineapple Cocktail, while the one below is good, the pineapple version has my heart.

The recipe and video to make this cocktail is below, but let’s learn a bit about the benefits of ACV together. You need this daily drink and here’s why…

THE BENEFITS OF ACV:
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has gained popularity for its potential health benefits, although it’s important to note that scientific research on many of these claims is ongoing and it could possibly produce even more benefits, but here are 8 reasons why I love apple cider vinegar.

1. **Acetic Acid:** ACV is primarily composed of acetic acid, which gives it its strong, sour taste. Acetic acid has been shown to have various potential health benefits, including aiding in digestion and metabolism.  We need to speed up our metabolism and debloat our bellies – Drink your ACV cocktail!

2. **Weight Management:** Some studies suggest that acetic acid may help with weight management by increasing feelings of fullness and reducing food intake. It may also influence the body’s metabolism and fat storage processes.  Need I say more queens?

3. **Blood Sugar Control:** ACV has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels, especially after meals. This can be beneficial for individuals with diabetes or those at risk of developing the condition.  Hello sisters with Diabetes, you need this sis!

4. **Antioxidant Properties:** ACV contains antioxidants, such as polyphenols, which can help combat oxidative stress and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.  All black and brown women (because we are the most prone to chronic diseases) need to enjoy ACV!

5. **Digestive Health:** Some people use ACV as a digestive aid. It may help with issues like indigestion and heartburn by promoting the production of stomach acid and digestive enzymes.

6. **Reducing Bacteria Growth:** The acetic acid in ACV can inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria in the digestive system and promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, which may contribute to better gut health.

7. **Skin and Hair:** ACV is sometimes used topically for skin and hair care. Its antibacterial properties may help treat acne, while its acidity can promote shinier hair and remove product buildup.  Yup Yup (CLICK HERE) to check out how I use ACV in my hair and my family’s hair!

8. **pH Balance:** Some proponents claim that ACV can help balance the body’s pH levels as well.

It’s important to note that while ACV has potential health benefits, it should be used in moderation and as part of a balanced diet. I drink this recipe once a day in the mornings right before or sometimes after breakfast.
CAUTION: Drinking it undiluted or in excessive amounts can be harmful, as its acidity can erode tooth enamel and irritate the throat and digestive tract.  This is why I love our cocktails so much!

Furthermore, individual responses to ACV can vary, and it may not work the same way for everyone. If you have specific health concerns or are considering using ACV for medicinal purposes, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for guidance tailored to your needs.

Without further adieu, here’s the recipe for you diva!!
