WELCOME TO DAY 8
“Water Wasted-ness”


β€œWHY WATER IS SO IMPORTANT FOR YOUR GUT.”


Water helps regulate your body temperature, lubricate your joints and muscles, flush waste from your cells, cleanse your internal organs (INCLUDING YOUR COLON), balance your fluids, and eliminate toxins from your bloodstream.

In short, water is essential for life, without it, you would DIE!

Since hydration is a major part of the health equation it should be a major part of your life, if you’re really serious about cleansing your body of toxins! In today’s lesson we will address 3 areas as it relates to water
1) How much should you drink;
2) When should you drink it (it matters for gut health) and
3) What type of water to drink.

Let’s get into it divas!


1.  HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD YOU DRINK?


You may have received advice to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces in water everyday; and, if you’re an active member of Fit, Fyne & Fabulous, you know that we recommend drinking 1 gallon of water everyday!  I’m sure you’ve also heard and read reports of the dangers of drinking too much water as well.  So, what’s the right thing to do?  Of course, if you are on medication of any kind or if you have any diseases or viruses always check with your doctor and do what the doctor says diva! My advice NEVER EVER overrides the the guy or gal in the white coat.  However, my advice was and always will be to drink your gallon as many days as you can!  Because truth be told, life is super busy and active, and you won’t be able to get that gallon in everyday!! I’ve gotten close to achieving a gallon everyday for a week straight once, but it’s really hard to do it if you don’t have a plan, right?  I depend on my Gallon Girl Diva Bottle to get my gallon in for the motivation and because I know once I drink the entire container, I am done, done done!

IF YOU ARE WORKING OUT, HAVE A SLOW GUT, AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU’VE EATEN BADLY FOR WEEKS OR MONTHS, PLEASE MAKE IT YOUR BUSINESS TO ATTAIN THAT GALLON TO HELP PUUUUUSH, THAT HORRIBLE STOOL OUT OF YOUR BODY. DON’T GIVE IT ANY MORE TIME THAN NECESSARY TO LIVE AND EXIST IN YOUR BELLY!!!  DRINK WATER, LIKE IT’S YOUR JOB BOOO!


2. WHEN SHOULD YOU DRINK YOUR WATER?


I encourage you to begin drinking water as soon as your feet hit the ground in the morning. Let warm lemon water be the first thing your digestive tract handles in the morning. Don’t just squeeze a lemon, also add the zest of the lemon to the water, that’s where a lot more of the nutrients are sis!  

Make sure you are drinking water BEFORE your meals, instead of drinking DURING your meals. You may be wondering why do that??  Here’s why, drinking liquid while you eat tends to dilute digestive juices and acids, which slows down your digestion considerably! Drink water BEFORE or AFTER & NOT DURING your meal.”CLICK TO TWEET

When food takes too long to go through your system, it can cause digestive problems. In addition, drinking water prior to your meal curbs your appetite and dulls your hunger pains.  Water also  prepares, opens, and lubricates the digestive tract, getting your body primed and ready for the food to come!!

Worried that you won’t be able to swallow your food without drinking?  Aim for 20 to 30 chews before swallowing. Ideally, your food should be nearly liquid before your swallow, did you know that?  So swallowing it without water shouldn’t be a problem.  Begin drinking your water again, 30 minutes after you’ve eaten.


3. WHAT TYPE OF WATER SHOULD I DRINK


OMG, there are so many different types of water right? Purified, Distilled, Akaline, Hydrogen, you name it they have it. But let’s be honest though diva… the truth is that even the healthiest type of water can only ever have minor health benefits. Hydrogen water and any other type of water on this list will not be able to repair an unhealthy diet or lifestyle. The biggest health benefits from hydration come from drinking water itself regardless of what type of water it is. The truth is that any type of water is good for you so long as it is clean and free of impurities.
