By December 15, 2020February 8th, 202410 Day Meal Prep Challenge

It’s Transformation Wednesday Queen, and it’s not just about transforming your body, but your mind too boooo!

But before you start Day 9’s Assignment, make sure you have completed Day 8’s Diva Assignment (click here).

WELCOME TO DAY 9

Honestly, you are so mean to yourself sis…

  • When you eat off plan
You begin to think oh well, this doesn’t work for me, and you quit the entire plan and decide to start again next time.
  • When work is super busy, or school is super busy-
You decide to not workout, not to meal plan, because life is too busy for all that. Drive thru here I am come.
  • When you learn your best friend is sick, you are feeling bored or/lonely , that promotion went to someone else
You no longer want the meals you prepped, you want ice-cream, chocolate, or something that will life you up.
  • When you try one or two healthy meal and don’t like it-
You decide eating healthy is not for you, and you quit all together.
  • When you don’t work out or you forget your workout clothes or fitness watch
You don’t do any activity that day, because what’s the use I don’t have what I need.
  • When someone questions your decision to eat more healthy
You also begin to question it and begin to think, it shouldn’t be this hard. I deserve that (place your fav food here)
  • When your body doesn’t look the way you want it to look-
You cover it up with even bigger clothes, and hide.
  • When you are unorganized and unprepared
You buy impulsively, you eat impulsively, everything is impulsive and doesn’t align with any of your goals you said you had.

I could go on… Does any of this sound like you in the past, or even since this challenge started? I implore you to consider giving yourself grace when you encounter these scenarios (and you will). Here’s what the grace version of these same scenarios look like.

  • When you eat off plan
You begin to think oh well, this doesn’t work for me, and you quit the entire plan and decide to start again next time.
BUT GRACE SAYS: “I am human and perfection is not expected, but progress is. My next meal will be my BEST meal. One bad meal doesn’t keep me fat, the same way one healthy meal doesn’t make me skinny. I grant myself grace to occasionally eat off plan.
  • When work is super busy, or school is super busy-
You decide to not workout, not to meal plan, because life is too busy for all that. Drive thru here I am come.
BUT GRACE SAYS: “I realize I am super busy, book and stressed this week; and, sadly meal prep didn’t happen. So, today I will hit the drive thru, but choose a healthiest drive thru I can with the healthiest option available. I grant myself grace to see that every week will not be planned to perfection. My goal is progress not PERFECTION anyways. I will make the space to meal prep another day this week
  • When you learn your best friend is sick, you are feeling bored or/lonely , that promotion went to someone else
You no longer want the meals you prepped, you want ice-cream, chocolate, or something that will life you up.
BUT GRACE SAYS: “These feelings are normal, valid and should be processed. I want something sweet to soothe my pain, so I will enjoy one sweet treat and not the entire bag. I will then take the time to process my feelings by journaling, calling a trusted friend or considering seeing a therapist. I grant myself the grace to feel the feelings, but not eat them. Slow down and find your options”
  • When you try one or two healthy meal and don’t like it-
You decide eating healthy is not for you, and you quit all together.
BUT GRACE SAYS: “I deserve a healthy body that I love, so I will continue to try healthier ways of preparing my favorite foods. I won’t quit because I didn’t like a specific meal or food. I will grant myself grace to know that I won’t love everything healthy and that’s okay. But I will learn what I do love and make that work for me. This will take practice, and patience, but I have time (the rest of my life actually) to begin to explore and embrace what works for me and what doesn’t
  • When you don’t work out or you forget your workout clothes or fitness watch
You don’t do any activity that day, because what’s the use I don’t have what I need.
BUT GRACE SAYS: “I am human and perfection is not expected, but progress is. Tomorrow I will workout as planned, but for today, I will take a nice walk, use the stairs, park farther away, do squats during commercials. Today, I will grant myself grace for leaving my workout clothes, but jump back into it tomorrow. “
  • When someone questions your decision to eat more healthy
You also begin to question it and begin to think, it shouldn’t be this hard. I deserve that (place your fav food here)
BUT GRACE SAYS: “This feels hard, but everything I try that is new is hard at first. I am granting myself grace to make this new process my own. To find how to make this work for me and my life. I want to live a high quality life, and eating healthy, thinking healthy, being healthy is where I start.
  • When your body doesn’t look the way you want it to look-
You cover it up with even bigger clothes, and hide.
BUT GRACE SAYS: “I may not be where I want to be right now, but I will be. I didn’t like those before pictures, but I do love me. I love the way I smile, I love my attitude, I love my eyes. I grant myself grace regarding how I managed my temple in the past, but realizing today I do love many parts of me. I’m working towards learning and loving more of myself meal by meal, day by day, pound by pound.
  • When you are unorganized and unprepared
You buy impulsively, you eat impulsively, everything is impulsive and doesn’t align with any of your goals you said you had.
BUT GRACE SAYS: “Life was a rollercoaster and I didn’t have the time to make solid planned decisions. With God’s grace things have calmed down enough for me to breathe, release and focus more on organizing and planning what’s important to me.”

“God’s Grace is greater than my weight loss mistakes. I’m transforming how I think about “mistakes” during this transformation to living a more healthy life.
GRACE is when God gives us good things that we don’t deserve. MERCY is when He spares us from bad things we deserve. BLESSINGS are when He is generous with both. Truly, we can never run out of reasons to thank Him. God is good all the time.
I am thankful and I know God is with me through this season and His grace is amazing. If I do my part, God’s Grace will bless me.

  • Doreen says:

Giving yourself GRACE should allow you to be able to get back on track without beating yourself up.
