Does CBD Get You HIGH?

By August 5, 2020August 10th, 2020Holistic / Alternative Health

Welcome to our Fit, Fyne & Fabulous (FFF) Education Nation series, where we educate our FFF divas on all things health and wellness!!

Did you know I use CBD Oil? (Click here) for the brand I use. I actually referred this brand to a friend who was experiencing illness on top of illness. I mean it had become overwhelming, from losing his eye sight, to edema to diabetes to glaucoma. My friend Ken Tabb had experienced a multi-year health and wellness SLUMP to put it mildly.  But, I must say, I was excited when he reached back out to me to tell me that he had learned to better manage his wellness with CBD Oil!  WOW!!

Ken immersed himself into all things CBD.  So, I asked him to write this post for the divas of Fit, Fyne & Fabulous. So diva, this is actually a personal message from a friend I’ve known for more than a decade.  It’s one that I couldn’t wait to share with you all. After all, this post maybe able to QUICKLY improve your quality of life too!  So, let’s learn together shall we?

Over the last 5 years, the popularity of CBD products has skyrocketed. CBD is supposed to be a legal and safer alternative to traditional marijuana while possessing many health benefits too. You can purchase products like CBD gummies or CBD oil for anxiety, pain, and inflammation relief.

In case you didn’t know, CBD is a type of cannabinoid that is extracted from a cannabis plant. It is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid; which simply means CBD doesn’t make you high or alter your brain functionality at all. The cannabinoid that does make you high is THC, which is found in the leaves of a cannabis plant (aka Mary Jane). There is minimal to no THC in any of the CBD oil products for sale.

Okay, so you’re probably thinking, “If CBD doesn’t make me high, then what is the point of taking it?”  Click To Tweet

Below are 12 health benefits of consuming CBD oil products.  Although gummies are good too, most people respond better to the CBD oil instead. Just a few drops of oil underneath the tongue in your mouth and you should feel the results quickly. I would say between 10 to 15 minutes.

1) Alleviates Depression and Anxiety

According to the World Health Organization, over 300 million people in the world suffer from depression. A large percentage of these people also suffer from anxiety too. These are two very serious mental disorders that can ruin the quality of someone’s life. However, several medical researchers have found that CBD can reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety in people. It even helps fight social anxiety and public speaking anxiety as well.

2) Reduces Pain

CBD gets the most attention because of its ability to reduce pain. In fact, it can reduce everything from the physical pain caused by arthritis to the neuropathic pain caused by multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and Craniocervical Instability(CCI)

3) Viable Drug Addiction Treatment

Drug addiction affects various brain circuits that cause you to develop a dependency to drugs like heroin and morphine. CBD works to correct the brain circuits responsible for stimulating the addiction so that you don’t have a dependency on
those drugs as much anymore.
CBD is thought to influence other receptors, including opioid receptors that regulate pain and glycine receptors involved in the regulation of the “feel-good” hormone serotonin.

4) Prevent Diabetes

CBD is believed to prevent a condition called insulitis that destroys pancreatic beta cells. Since insulitis is a big cause of Type I Diabetes, preventing insulitis can help prevent diabetes too. But for people who already have diabetes, CBD can lower the
side effects of the disease like memory deficits and neuropathic inflammation.

5) Reduces Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a big cause of cardiovascular diseases, strokes, and heart attacks. If you were to take one dose of CBD oil each day, then you’d find yourself with lower blood pressure. That means you’d have a lesser chance of getting a heart attack, stroke, or heart disease.

6) Fights Insomnia

Do you have trouble getting to sleep? If so, then CBD might be your answer to reduce insomnia or any sleeping difficulties that you may experience. This is linked to CBD’s ability to reduce anxiety and worries that cause you to stay awake.

7) Eliminates and Prevents Acne

The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD help lower the production of sebum in the skin. As you may know, sebum is natural oil produced for the skin. When excessive amounts of sebum are produced, it causes acne to form on the surface. That is why
you get those unattractive pimples and blackheads. But if you consume CBD oil and lower the production of sebum, then your visible acne will clear up fast.

8) Prevents and Reduces Alzheimer’s Disease Symptoms

Neuroinflammation is a big contributor to the development of Alzheimer’s disease. CBD can work to prevent and reduce neuroinflammation by shielding neurons from the free radicals that try to destroy them. This means you’ll have a lesser chance of dealing with Alzheimer’s disease or its symptoms.

9) Antipsychotic Effects

CBD has been found to lower psychotic symptoms in people suffering from various types of mental disorders, such as schizophrenia and psychosis. The results have not been proven for all types of mental disorders, but people with these disorders
have reportedly gotten relief from CBD oil.

10) Helps Fight Cancer

The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD help give it anti-tumor effects as well. If you’re worried about developing a cancerous tumor in your brain, lung, colon, breast, or prostate, then try CBD oil consistently. It can even prevent cancer from spreading if it already exists.

11) Epilepsy & Seizures

In June 2018, the FDA approved Epidiolex for the treatment of seizures associated with Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in children two and under. Both are exceptionally rare genetic disorders causing lifelong catastrophic seizures that begin during the first year of life.

12) Glaucoma & Macular Edema

Eye diseases that effects the optic nerve and the retinas have seen positive results due to reduction of inflammation by CBD.

  • Thank you for the information! I do not use CBD oil, I wasn’t aware of the benefits for using it. However, it sounds like something I should look in to further. I do suffer from depression, sleep issues, swollen knee , high blood protein etc. and I’m on medication for 2 the depression and High blood pressure. So this is definitely a wealth of information that o greatly appreciate.

  • Cheryl says:

I have not used CBD. I am interested in it’s health benefits and would consider using it.

  • Tondi DeShields says:

Great information on the benefits of CBD oil. I have always been leery about using it due to me being in the medical field and worried about if it will show up on my urine. You have cleared that up for me.

Also, there are several different brands people are selling and we need to do our due diligence to research if it’s with or without the MJ.

    • Coach Twy says:

Yes, I use a very reputable brand that I trust. It was founded by a gentlemen who’s daughter has sever mental and physical ailments, and CBD saved her quality of life. His story touched me, so I tried his brand.

    • Ken Tabb says:

      Hello Tondi
Thank you for your comment. I too had many questions in the beginning however after doing research and consulting with people in the know I decided to use a product that is organic in nature with no additives. Please join us on August 19 to learn more about this product.

    • Keona Whrighter says:

Not at all! It’s the THC in weed that gets you high. They separate the THC and CBD when they make the CBD oil.

      • Ken Tabb says:

        Hello Keona
This is correct. I hope you can join us on August 19 for more detailed information about the benefits of CBD.

  • Melita Mitchell says:

This was very helpful. I have used some forms of CBD to assist with some pain issues I have had in the past. I was aware of some of the benefits shared here, but not all. Definitely considering using with my son for acne. That was a new one for me! Thanks for the great information!

  • Nickie Wilson says:

This information was very educational for me. When I heard the term CBD oil I too just thought of a form of marijuana and that it makes you high. As I was reading the benefits of it I was considering if it shows up blood and urine tests working in the healthcare field. I’m interested in using it for my high blood pressure and possibly to continue to manage my Lupus. Thank you for the great information

  • Janeen says:

Great info shared. I had seen and heard about some of the benefits, but many more were shared here. I have tried a certain tea with supposed CBD in it but I did not see results. I am challenged by overall aches and stiffness, but mainly foot and ankle pain. Would love some relief and to be able to stop paying for PT.

  • Robbin says:

Hello i have not tried CBD yet but I have been looking into it just haven’t made my mind up about what and how. This was very informative and has helped me with a decision

  • Janice Winstead says:

Thank you for this information; this is why I joined FFF – the Education Nation is everything! I was not aware of all the benefits of CBD. I have used CBD cream for pain and will be looking into the use of CBD oil as well. Thank you for sharing your brand!

  • wennifer cameron says:

I haven’t heard of all of the benefits of CBD oil. I have been skeptical of trying it because of horror stories that I have heard of people tearing positive from using some brands that still had a significant amount of THC in it that caused them to test positive on drug tests and lose their jobs ( the products they used, were supposedly free of THC).
I think it would be beneficial for me, if I were able to find one from a reputable source that would give me the benefits without the worry of losing my job. I suffer from depression, anxiety and insomnia; as well as arthritis. From the article it appears that there are a multitude of benefits that would help me.

  • Wennifer Cameron says:

I do know that CBD doesn’t get you high, but I know of people who have used some from local shops and it still had THC in it . Testing positive and losing their job. But, I think it was because it was not from a tested reputable source . I would try it🤷🏽‍♀️but it has to be from a source that is proven.
Because we all know that Alabama is always the last to make anything legal😂

  • Cheryl Spurlock says:

Only if they do random drug test and it has both thc and cbd

  • Vonda says:

I heard about CBD oil and it’s benefits about 4 years ago, I’ve been using it ever since. I don’t use it daily anymore, but it definitely help with the inflammation in my knees. CBD comes in various flavors and Potency. I didn’t use the the ones that carried THC, which is the ingredient that gets you high.

  • Cassandra Gray says:

I’ve used a variety of CBD products (body cream, massage oil, foot cream and hand lotion). All are great but I most enjoyed a full body massage with CBD infused oil. I was a little leary at first but figired a reputable spa would only use quality brands, so I took the plunge. Best massage of my life! I have never felt so relaxed.

  • Ken Tabb says:

    Cassandra
Much appreciate your feedback. I also had the same reaction when I had my first full body massage with CBD oil. It made a world of difference. I highly recommend this type of treatment. We can talk more about this and other benefits on August 19. I hope you can join us for the conversation.

  • Dana says:

Yes I am going to try and share this information. Thank you.
