Love Yourself FABULOUSLY, Diva: DAY 2 – “Write Your Vision”

So diva, today is all about “writing your vision and making it plain“. One of my favorite verses in the Bible!

Habakkuk 2:2-3
The Message (MSG)

Full of Self, but Soul-Empty

2-3 And then God answered: “Write this.
    Write what you see.
Write it out in big block letters
so that it can be read on the run.
This vision-message is a witness
    pointing to what’s coming.
It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!
    And it doesn’t lie.
If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It’s on its way. It will come right on time.

Did you read this verse diva!! It says…. “If it [the vision] seems slow in coming, WAIT!!! It’s on its way, and it will come RIGHT ON TIME!

Everyone’s vision may not arrive at the same time, so STOP COMPARING your speed to someone else’s.  Find comfort and rest in the fact that we will be doing this together as a SISTERHOOD!  So grab your pen, print your *FREE* goal planning sheet (click here) (OR if you have your Fabulous Diva Planner, complete February’s Goals template in your planner) and document your fitness goals for the next week TODAY!!  Want a challenge planner that covers the entire year?  (click here – it’s $5 off today)

“5 Reasons Why Goal Setting is Important!”

 1.  Goals give you FOCUS!

You can have all of the intention and potential in the world, but without focus, none of that matters!  Just like sunlight can’t burn through anything without a magnifying glass focusing it, you can’t achieve anything unless a goal is focusing your effort.  Because at the end of the day, goals are what give you direction in life.  No goals, no direction Diva!

2.  Goals Allow You to Measure Progress!

Not meeting your goals is not the end of the world. Progress NOT perfection should be your mantra during this process.  My goal writing process looks something like this:
Write the goal work to achieve the goal ⇒ tweak the goalachieve the goal (REPEAT)

Success all starts with a GOAL!

3.  Goals Keep You Locked In and Undistracted

By setting goals you give yourself mental boundaries.  When you have a certain end point (smaller waist, pounds loss) in mind, you are more aware of certain distractions and are more inclined to stay focused on your goal.  For example, when I set a goal to workout 5 times in 1 week, I immediately setup mental boundaries, and guard myself against anything that will prevent me from achieving that goal!

“One half of knowing what you want, is knowing what you must give up before you get it!”   -Sidney Howard

4. Goals Help You Overcome Procrastination

When you set a goal for yourself you make yourself accountable to finish the task.  This is in complete contrast  with when you do things based on a whim and it doesn’t matter whether you complete them or not.  Goals tend to stick in your mind and if not completed they give you a “Shoot! I was supposed to do _____ today!” reminder.  These reminders in the back of your head help you to overcome procrastination and laziness.

But keep in mind, setting long term goals actually promote procrastination. So whenever you have a long term goal, break it down into smaller sequential goals Click To Tweet

5. Goals Give You Motivation!

The root of all motivation or inspiration you have ever felt in your entire life are goals.  Goal setting provides you the foundation for your drive.  By making a goal, you give yourself a concrete endpoint to aim for and get excited about.  It gives you something to focus on and put 110% of your effort into and this focus is what develops motivation!
