THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE

POINT TO PONDER:

Relationships are always worth restoring.

VERSE TO REMEMBER:

“Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody.”
ROMANS 12:18 (TEV)

QUESTION TO CONSIDER:

Who do I need to restore a broken relationship with today?

  • This reading was so powerful because we are called to live in relationship with others. We must be the initiators of reconciliation. I like the point that reconciliation focuses on the person and resolution focuses on the problem. We must be clear that reconciliation must always be the goal. It’s tough work but Jesus said “blessed are those that work toward peace.” It’s not just going to happen. It’s intentional.

Also some of us need to restore our broken relationship with our bodies. We look in the mirror and hate what we see. We need to reconcile with our bodies that no matter what they look like we will choose to love it. We show our love by caring for it. Exercising. Eating healthy. Getting proper rest. Reducing stress.

The question asks about broken relationships we have. I pray you will take time to consider that whether it’s with others or even your own body. Then be the one to initiate reconciliation.

“First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.” 18

Attack the problem and NOT the person….. “A wise, mature person is known for his understanding. The more pleasant his words, the more persuasive he is.” 21 Nagging never works. You are never persuasive when you’re abrasive. I took so many notes but this one surely stands out.

This is such a powerful reading that we all need to absorb. This reading could not have come at a better time. I need reassurance in this area….. I’m always the peacemaker, confronting the problem; however, sometimes I can be the problem as well. Love Love Love this reading on “Resolving Conflict”
