I think my friends and family would say health and fitness are the driving forces of my life. I want my driving force to be the ability to help anyone I come in to contact with to achieve an overall sense of well being.
The two things that stuck out for me most in this chapter were 1. The greatest tragedy is not death, but life without a purpose. 2. Purpose driven living leads to a simpler lifestyle and a saner schedule.
For a while I was wandering around trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. And then last year I realized that everything I have interest in concerns feeling and looking good inside and out. And God put me on the right path and connected me with the right people to start making that happen. My life is really good right about now.
This was a great chapter. I also was reminded that I sometimes get a kick out of people saying, “Wow, you are so busy.” I sometimes wear it as a badge of honor, but it has become a burden. While I’m clear of my purpose, the part about living a simpler life really stuck out. I’ve got to do more declutttering in some areas. The part about God giving us enough time to do what He’s called us to do and if we don’t have enough time then we are doing more than He’s called for us to do. Whew…that one sure struck home. Letting some things go…simple life.
Oh and I decided to ask my family and friends what they would say to that question. Rather than assume, I asked. Should be interesting to hear/read their responses.
Day 3- I think that people would say that the things that drive my life are my children and health (fitness/nutrition). I would like my driving force to be God. I spend a lot of time “doing” things. I am ALWAYS “busy.” What I am realizing is that I don’t seem too have enough time in a day and I am tiring myself out because my activity isn’t all about fulfilling God’s purpose for me. I DON’T KNOW WHAT MY PURPOSE IS.
