Detox while you hydrate Diva!
This recipe contains two main detoxing ingredients, Lemon and Chia Seeds.
Lemon in water makes for a powerful detox drink; and, lemon juice actually helps to cleanse and alkalize the body.
While, chia seeds, rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, help with hydration due to their ability to absorb up to 9-10 times their weight in water. Chia seeds also contain fibre, protein, calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, and zinc among many other nutrients.
Chia is also the #1 food to make you go #2, according to Registered Dietitian Victoria Seaver, M.S., R.D. as reported by Eating Well Magazine. Feel free to sweeten with honey and chill with ice cubes!
- 16 ounces of filtered water
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1/2 lemon
- squeeze 1/2 lemon into 16 ounces of filtered or bottle water
- add 1 tablespoons chia seeds to water
- shake or stir wait 10 minutes before drinking (the chia seeds will swell)
