The Healthiest French Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Ezekiel Sprouted Bread Found in the Freezer Section
  • 4 Egg Whites
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup of fresh berries of choice I love blueberries and strawberries
  • 1 TBSP of 100% organic Grade B Maple Syrup per slice I love the Vermont Syrup from Trader Joe's
  • Other Optional Toppings:
  • 1 tsp of Ghee
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 TSBP of walnuts or pecans
  • 1-2 servings of Coconut Whip Trader Joes

Instructions

  • Mix egg white, cinnamon, nutmeg & vanilla in bowl.
  • Dip bread into batter and cook in a pan over medium heat sprayed with coconut oil or nonstick spray.
  • "Fry" each side of the bread until gold brown (Approx 3-5 minutes per side)
  • Remove from Pan and plate
  • Serve with toppings of choice

Notes

By warming your berries & bananas in the pan after you're done with your toast, you can create your own natural syrup. I enjoy it both ways with or without syrup. 100% organic local honey is also a great sweetener to use.
