Renew the Mind to Change the Body

Happy Sunday Divas!!!

Thank you for all the love and support on my 1st blog post! I hope it was a blessing to you all.

Last week we talked about the scripture verse from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” I think it is safe to say that we are confident that we can do what we have set out to do this year through Christ who strengthens us. Divas, we have decided to commit to being successful at what we have set as our goals and plans. 😉

Now that we know we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength, let’s talk about our thought process in relation to achieving our goals and accomplishing what we have planned to do in 2018.

Renew the Mind to Change the Body

Ephesians 4:23 – Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better (TLB).
Romans 12:2 – Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

You have set your goals, you have planned your meals and got your workout plans in place. But there are times when this journey gets hard, we fall off and sometimes we want to give up. But we all know that giving up will not get us to our goal. For me, it’s so easy to eat cookies and rice crispy treats with my nieces or skip the gym to hang out with family.

So even though I know I can reach my goals, I still fall off my program. Then it hit me.  I need to make a change in my thought process and my attitude towards this life change.

I gained about half the weight I lost because I allowed my old way of thinking to creep back in. To be successful in losing weight again, I will need to change (renew) my thought process. I have to be purposeful in how I do life.

When everyone is grabbing sodas, I MUST remember my goals and decide to have water instead (renewed mind). When I  don’t feel like (attitudinal change) making a healthy breakfast, instead I have to decide that I will fuel my body with a healthy breakfast. When it’s mid-day but I still have not worked out I have to be determined (attitudinal change) that I will stop and go to the gym.

We will need to change the way we think about every aspect of our lives.

The FFF coaches provide great workout programs, meal prep ideas, recipes, hydration help and encouragement. Therefore we have the tools to be successful in our healthy life journey; we also have the ability to be transformed by renewing our minds, thoughts and attitudes.

If weight loss is our goal, to be successful we need to change the way we think, change our attitudes and change our habits.
What are some thoughts, attitudes, and habits you will change to reach your goal? Take a moment to write those down in your planner or journal and everyday make a decision to change those thoughts, attitudes, and habits. Remember we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. I really believe that prayer will help us to renew.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for another week of life. Thank you for your Word and the freedom to come to you in prayer. You have provided all that we need to live a prosperous, healthy life but we still need your help when we get weak.
Help each of us to change our attitudes and thoughts about being discipline and committed to reaching our goals. Help us to be more mindful about what and when we eat, what we drink and how we plan our day so that we remember to incorporate exercise. Help us to be disciplined and committed to achieving our goals. We know that it is your will that we live healthy lives and that we have to decide to change the way we think and our attitude about how we take care of our temple.
Thank you for loving us enough to help us to renew our minds, and attitudes.
Amen

I think you are so on point Cil! This journey is so mental. Folks hear these words all the time, but do they really connect with them? Im not sure. When folks ask me is it food or workouts that get the body you want, I always say it’s 100% mental, and the other stuff comes when your mind is RIGHT! Love this word. Thank you for praying over our divas and everyone who reads this.

This is such a great post Lady Cel. I definitely have to change my mindset yet again to prepare for this competition I have coming up. I’ll come back to this when I need inspiration if I slip.

Great message Cil. I definitely have to change my mindset yet again if I’m going to be prepared for this competition coming up. I’ll come back and look at this when I need inspiration to stay the course.

Great post today. Transformation takes place in the mind first, then you see the manifestation of it everywhere else. The journey may not be easy, but as long as you keep your mind renewed and strengthen, you will continue to move forward with victory straight ahead and defeat no longer in view.
