I personally have had heart disease effect the women in my family. Both of my grandmother’s had high blood pressure, and heart disease. My maternal grandmother actually had a quadruple bypass years ago and thankfully she is still with us and healthier. We can prevent this problem by living healthier lives.

I never realized how much of an attack heart disease is on African Americans… It’s known that we have (had) the worse eating habits; but now that we are educated on the what and the how, we don’t have to fall victim to the diseases of our culture. Both my maternal and paternal family were affected by heart disease, diabetes, cancers, and strokes. Today I chose to be Heart Healthy, And I am passing my new healthy lifestyle on to my family so that our future generation don’t have to fall victim to the past affects of our culture.

Jazz up your soul food with healthier ingredients and remain heart healthy!!!

Take A Stand Ladies!!! Chose to be #HeartHealthy.

I sparkle for heart health because heart disease is in my family….both sides! There are countless stories I’ve heard from friends and family alike that are preventable with healthy eating and exercise. I appreciate FFF for focusing this month on awareness of heart disease! So this entire month my sparkle is dedicated to encourage my friends and family to fight this disease!
