The Cliff Notes from today’s reading:
“Chapter 24: WHY SHOULDN’T I BE JEALOUS AND ENVIOUS WHEN EVERYBODY ELSE IS BETTER OFF THAN I AM

In this day in age of social media it allows people to show off the glamorous side of their lives. And if our mind is not set to the things God has for “You” you can become jealous of others progress & things.
“Minding (having our mind set on) other people’s business, will keep us in the wilderness.”- Joyce Meyers

1: BEWARE OF THE TWO HEADED MONSTER
Envy and jealousy can cause unusual behavior. They will lead you to a person you will eventually not like or recognize. Learning that we are uniquely made in God image for a specific purpose will grant you such a powerful freedom not to compare.

2: DON’T COMPETE                                                                                         God chooses difficult situations in our lives because He already knows what we really need to work on or even get rid of to truly face ourselves and grow in Him. So don’t measure your life to others. “God desires to bless us even more than we desire to be blessed”

 3: GET A NEW MINDSET
“There is always someone that will eventually do something better than you.” Joyce Meyer. This statement should set you in place to be open to continue to learn & not to be envious. Strive to be the best YOU!!

KEY TAKE-A-WAYS from Chapter 24: WHY SHOULDN’T I BE JEALOUS AND ENVIOUS WHEN EVERYBODY ELSE IS BETTER OFF THAN I AM

1. MIND YOUR BUSINESS

2. God will give us favor with Him and with others if we will do things His way (see Prov. 3:3,4 KJV).

3. “Get a new mindset” Take account of your thoughts in this area. When you recognize wrong thought patterns beginning to flow into your mind, talk to yourself a little.

  • Liz says:

Awesome reminder to stay in my lane. I have to keep trusting God in every area. I surrender all!

  • Danielle Irving says:

As a mother I worry constantly about my children when they aren’t with me. This is a reminder to have faith that they will be protected and that they will remember their teachings. I’m thankful that I don’t feel jealous when others are having great results with weight loss. It actually inspires me to push forward a little harder.

  • Roeina says:

Focus on what my goals are and not dwelling on what I don’t have can keep me thinking positive. Rejoicing in others success can help to alleviate jealousy. God has a plan for me. I don’t have to resent what others have. We have to renew our minds daily. I really am enjoying this book.

    • Danielle says:

So true about renewing the mind daily. We all want success so celebrating together is a great way to chase off that green eyed monster.

      • Melissa says:

We all have our own paths to take. God has made us all wonderfully but different in his image. If some can achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve success as well.

  • Garnett McNeill says:

This is a great mindset to have. Since I was a teenager I have told myself not to get too cocky because there is always someone out there that is better than you at something. My goal in life is the be the best version of me and not anyone else. My only competition is myself. So I will continue thinking that way and not let outside distractions make me change my thought process.
