The Cliff Notes from today’s reading:
“Chapter 2: A Vital Necessity”
For as a he thinks in his heart, so is he…
You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.
We should consider the matter of casting down the strongholds the devil has placed in our minds as a “Vital Necessity”. In other words, if you want to live your life successfully, getting rid of those thoughts that bind you is NOT OPTIONAL… it’s a VITAL NECESSITY!
1: THE MIND OF THE FLESH VS. THE MIND OF THE SPIRIT
If we think fleshly thoughts, wrong thoughts, negative thoughts, we cannot walk in the Spirit! You can’t win? You are losing even while starting. You will always lose, if you let the flesh win!!
It is important for you to come to grips with the fact that your life will not get straightened out until your mind does!!
2: Not by Might, but by the Spirit!!
One of our best aids to freedom is asking God for a lot of help – and asking often! This is done thru prayers divas!
Having a prayer life is a vital necessity! Just as having those vital organs are to live this life, having a prayer life is just as VITAL to overcoming your strongholds, and living a VICTORIOUS LIFE!
A tree is known by the fruit it bears! Your thoughts are the tree! What type of fruit or in this example, attitude are you bearing?? Let it not be unorganized, undisciplined, unfocused! Think victorious thoughts!!!!
KEY TAKE-A-WAYS from Chapter 2: A Vital Necessity
1. This is NOT optional!! Positive thinking is a “vital necessity” to have a successful life!
2. Some of us are lazy about things until we realize (sometimes at the last minute) how important it is to pay attention to it!
3. Our tools to defeat the negative thinking is PRAYER, PRAISE & The Word of God!
4. You need to be absolutely SERIOUS about tearing down these strongholds the devil has you under! Break EVERY chain diva!

I’m Nicole Twyman, a native New Orleanian, who has lived all across the US! Although, my small family of 4 currently calls Los Angeles, CA home. I am a proud 40+ year old mom of a wonderfully energetic and theatrical daughter, and a handsome, scholarly athlete!
While I have worked in corporate America as a certified senior project / program / portfolio manager for Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, Procter & Gamble & IBM, my passion is service. It has always been my desire to live a life of service to others; which I took every opportunity to explore as an active member of many of my church’s ministries and of my public service sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
Well, now I am over the top excited to have the opportunity to serve divas through my very own ministry, Fit, Fyne & Fabulous.
I believe that it so necessary for us to pray, read the word of God, and praise God to help achieve your goals. We pray to communicate with God. We are his children and just like our kids we want them to come to us first for guidance rather than go to the streets, or the world and get it wrong. God is the same way. When we read the bible we learn who God is and his character. It helps develop an intimate relationship. The word helps equip us for every good work. When we praise him; look out, watch things happen. We feel better and circumstances change. I always go to God in most every area that I think is essential but I never went to him concerning my fitness. This time it will be different. I am so excited about that.
Yes yes yes!!! It’s of vital importance. I love that phrase now!
I believe that we should pray, read and meditate on Gods word daily. We should always give Praise , Glory and Honor to God, often times we think our prayers are only to be used in a urgent situation, God likes for us to communicate with him on a daily basis with everything not just some things. The word is our spiritual weapon that we can use to keep us from eating that fried chicken or eating 5 candy bars and to get that last push-up in. Change your way of thinking and everything else will fall into place.
yes Lord keep my mouth from doing me harm with words and food!! Keep us lifted Lord!
God is an absolutely a vital necessity in our lives. His Word gives us the strength we need to accomplish our goals. Our minds are renewed and transformed by the Word of God. If you want change then “Get Your Mind Right”
Blessings
I definitely realize that prayer and communication with God is the most vital necessity in my life. Long before I wanted to lose weight and become healthy I have had a prayer life and read my word faithfully. I want to be my best self right now so I am holding strong to my God and will continue to praise and worship Him.
I’m holding strong right with you!!! We can accomplish our fitness goals too, with HIM as our utmost and highest anchor!
Yes it is necessary that we pray, read the word and praise God. God wants a relationship with us and it is by reading & studying his word and praising him that we develop a relationship with God and this is the way that we come to understand what God wants for us. God can empower us to accomplish our goals. He is our anchor.
Now to applying this to our fitness!! Yes yes yes, he cares not just about our spirit man but our temples as well. I’m with you sis!
Constant communion with God through praise and prayer is key to being victorious. It is so easy to get off track and leave God out of the picture. Without God we are nothing.
This lesson was on point and I wholeheartedly believe it to be true. Our weapons are not carnal. They are spiritual! Simply put: if it’s negative it’s not of God. Prayer is our daily connection to Him and so is belief. We have to believe we can eat right and honor our commitments to ourselves.
I do feel that praying, reading and understanding the word of God and praising God is vital necessity, not just for my goals but to remain in His will. I feel much stronger when I commune with Him. He is the friend that will always answer when we call. I constantly ask God to remove things from me (thoughts, people etc.) that are not going to help me prosper. I have learned that while I am waiting for God to answer or work on my behalf, it is vital to praise HIM in the hallway until the door is opened.
Prayer changes things. I’m asking God to banish all negative thoughts so I can keep a positive mind. Talking with God is one of the most important things we can do to stay connected to Him.
I believe that prayer and worship along with reading and understanding God’s word is extremely important in order to obtain success especially weight loss. Prayer assist in changes of the mind and releases God’s anointing to work in and through us to achieve success in whatever concerns us.
