The Cliff Notes from today’s reading:
“Chapter 4: Little by Little!
”

The renewing of your mind take place little by little, so don’t be discouraged if progress seems slow. Pride is a “beast” that will consume us if we receive too much freedom too quickly.  It is better to be set at liberty in one area at a time.  That way you appreciate your freedom more; and realize it’s a gift from GOD and not something YOU can make happen in your own strength.

1: AS YOU’RE WAITING DON’T CONDEMN YOURSELF FOR SETBACKS
Just get back up, dust yourself off and start again; like a baby learning to walk!

The devil will try his hardest to stop you in the area of renewing your mind. He knows that his control over you is finished once you have learned to think right thoughts and reject the wrong ones.

God Is doing for us what We Cannot do For Ourselves

2: Use your WORD weapon when condemnation rises!
Quote Romans 8:1 reminding Satan and yourself that you do not walk after flesh but after the SPIRIT!  Walking after the flesh is dependent on yourself; walking after the SPIRIT is depending on GOD!

3: Don’t accept condemnation, Instead be CONVICTED!!
Please know the difference divas! Discouragement destroys hope, without hope we give up, which is that the devil wants!!!  When condemnation strikes, try this instead: “I refuse to be discouraged. I refused to be condemned. Father, the Bible says that you don’t condemn me.  You sent Jesus to die for me!  I will be FINE!!  Today will be a great day.  You will help me choose right thoughts today!!

  • Valerie McKenzey says:

I would evaluate the goal I set to make sure I have a obtainable goal, and that I have set up steps to meet the goal (like meal planning and cleaning eating). If I don’t meet my fitness goal or any goal I have set for myself, I need to re-evaluate my goal and plans and start over. I have learned that I would not accomplish anything in life if my mind set was to just give up. I’m a fighter❤

    • Danie Irving says:

That’s a great point, Valerie. Was the goal attainable? Did you set a goal to lose 50lbs in 3 weeks? Even if you get close, its not healthy for your body to endure such a drastic change. Setting an attainable goal is soooo important. Great job!

  • Delores says:

Yes yes, I should continue to encourage myself to keep pushing, acknowledge I didn’t get this way over night and to take one day at a time

    • Danie Irving says:

Your are right! We have to encourage ourselves and us divas will be there to encourage you too. I’d also add to celebrate the small victories just as much as the big ones. You got your gallon in today? Woohoo! Keep it up! Pat yourself on the back! Love this!

  • I’m setting realistic goals! I didn’t gain it overnight, even though it feels that way, I won’t lose it overnight. I try to keep a positive attitude and keep doing the things that I know will work!

  • Beverly C says:

I’ve learn to set goals that are doable by setting realistic dates for accomplishment, again knowing my weigh loss will take time and will include sets backs. At the same time being prayerful that I don’t set my self up to be discouraged.

  • Ivy says:

I really enjoyed the chapter. Although i knew it, she reassured me that my progress won’t happen over night but little by little i will transform into a new me.

  • Liz Prince says:

I am trying to hold on and this post helps me remember. Thanks!

  • Danie Irving says:

The next time the results dont come when I think they should, I’m not going to be discouraged I’m going to give it more time, and look at my routine to see where I can do more or edit something. I’ve learned from this group that we have to listen to our body closely and take note of how it feels when we do certain things. I’m going to take inventory but NEVER give up.

  • Nicole S McCoy says:

This is right on time today for me.

  • Valerie McKenzey says:

I have to refer back to my comments from April. I have to evaluate the goal I set to see if the goal was obtainable. I also need to evaluate the things that stopped me from reaching my goals, to determine how to eliminate those obstacles. The one thing I know is to NEVER give up. I may have to revise the goal a few times before I’m able to reach my goal. But NEVER give up.

  • Melissa Martin says:

If some is important enough, you do even if the odds are not in your favor at the time. God always has your back and when he believes your ready and can handle what he has for you, watch out!!!!!
